Er du nysgjerrig på hva Noh-teater er for noe og kunne tenke deg å vite mer? Da har du mulighet til å delta på en workshop og en introduksjon til kunstformen med den anerkjente japanske scenekunstneren og instruktøren Yoko Layer. Hun er invitert til å holde en forelesning og workshop om Noh-teater på Buskerud kunstsenter i Drammen i juli. Deltakerne vil få en innføring i kunstformens historie og de konseptuelle aspektene ved Nohgaku gjennom fortelling og utforskning av stiliserte sang og bevegelse. Workshopen holdes i Buskerud Kunstsenters lokaler 25.juli og 29.juli kl. 12.00-15.00.
Noh er en tradisjonell japansk scenekunst som kombinerer sang, musikk, dans, skuespill, samt masker og kostymer.
Yoko studerte som lærling med den profesjonelle Umewaka Rokuro-grenen av Kanze-skolen under den 56. Mester Rokuro Umewaka. Hun oppnådde Sheetay Kata Kanze-ryu-instruktørlisensen på Kanze-skolen i Noh. Som et profesjonelt medlem av Kanze-skolen i Noh, tilhører Yoko Umewaka-kai Public Interest Incorporated Foundation, og er et vanlig medlem av Nohgaku Association. Workshopen vil foregå på engelsk.

Led by Yoko Layer, this workshop will introduce participants to the history and conceptual aspects of Nohgaku by inviting them to explore Nohgaku’s stylized chants and movement. Noh is a traditional Japanese performing art combining chant, music, dance, acting, as well as masks and costumes. Yoko studied as an apprentice with the Umewaka Rokuro branch of the Kanze school under the 56th Master Rokuro Umewaka. She obtained the Sheetay Kata Kanze-ryu instructor’s license in the Kanze school of Noh. As a professional member of the Kanze school of Noh, Yoko belongs to Umewaka-kai Public Interest Incorporated Foundation, and is a regular member of the Nohgaku Association, a public interest incorporated association (Tokyo branch) Sheetaykata Kanze school.
Yoko is a frequent lecturer at Nohgaku workshops for foreigners including pre-performance commentary/lectures in Japanese and English throughout the world.
